Oakland Artist Transforms Illegally Dumped Garbage into Homes for Homeless

West Oakland artist, Greg Kloehn, drives around the streets near his home studio looking for illegally dumped trash piles that show up every night.

Along with a team of volunteers, Greg fashions those pieces into tiny, moveable structures. Ever since his first home give-away, Greg has converted trash into more than a dozen small homes on wheels and given them to the homeless in his area.

    Not your typically standing cafe, the Stables Cafe, which was set up by Glen Duckett from Thwaites pub the Eagle and Child Ramsbottom in Lancashire,  is a place where youths are being given second chances at life. These youths  have been long-term unemployed, homeless or have served juvenile detention.
