Greenloop: Top Climate Scientist on 2023'S Extreme Weather

In 2023, the average global temperature was 1.45 degrees Fahrenheit above pre-industrial levels, according to the World Meteorological Association.

That same year, the average temperature worldwide was 0.12 degrees Fahrenheit above pre-industrial levels, Reuters reports.

"We are delighted to be able to offer our attendees the chance to hear from a world-leading climate scientist," the organizers of an online conference in April 2024 say.

That scientist will be Professor Peter Cox of the Global Systems Institute at the University of Exeter, according to a press release.

Cox is the director of the institute, which "has more IPCC authors than any other city in the world."
