If you're looking for a creative solution to a problem, take a walk.

A recent study found that people who took a walk later performed better on memory tests than those who walked on busy streets in urban areas, reports the New Yorker.

"The way we move our bodies further changes the nature of our thoughts and vice versa," writes Ferris Jabr in the magazine.

"I’ve always thought taking a walk helped unlock the more imaginative part of my brain mass, and now research indicates a link exists between a good saunter or amble and the creative process."

Other walkers have included Thoreau, Jane Austen, Walt Whitman, and Gary Snyder.
