If you've got a toddler in your life, you may want to steer clear of the Internet for a while.

A study published in the Journal of Adolescent Health finds that kids ages 7 to 12 who spend more than seven hours a day on electronic devices are more likely to become addicted than kids who spend less than four hours a day, the Los Angeles Times reports.

"Digital screen time has been linked to various health concerns, including sedentary lifestyles," the study's lead author says.

The study also found that children who spend more than four hours a day on electronic devices are more likely to become addicted than kids who spend less than two hours a day, the Times notes.

The study's authors say it's important to limit screen time to no more than two hours a day for children ages 7 to 12 and three hours a day for children ages 13 to 17.
