The Adams County Farmers Market in Gettysburg, Pa., isn't just a farmers marketit's a food bank.
That's why the nonprofit is asking for help from the public during its annual 24-hour giving spree on Thursday, Nov.
9, reports the Gettysburg Times.
The market runs from 8am to noon on the third Saturday of every month, and it's one of the few places in the country where people are allowed to bring their own non-perishable food items to be donated to the food bank.
"We have never turned a customer away due to lack of funding, and with your continued support, we never will," says the market's executive director.
"Giving Spree contributions allow ACFM to have a positive impact on the local economy and small businesses as well....
The positive impact of our work extends beyond just Saturday mornings, and we want to invite Giving Spree donors to be a part of this innovative, community-driven project."
