People of Crypto Lab Commemorates 50 Years of Hip-Hop with Cultureverse

In September, gamers will be able to pay homage to hip-hop in a new virtual world created in partnership with Walmart.

The game, called Cultureverse, "pays tribute to Hip-Hop and its profound influence on art, music, and fashion," per a press release.

It's also designed "to honor the visionaries of Hip-Hop while exploring its evolution and cultural impact."

The creators of Cultureverse, Web3 studio People of Crypto Lab and Rock the Bells, are working with Walmart to " inspire a new generation of Black innovators and create real-world impact," says Justin Breton, director of brand experiences and strategic partnerships at Walmart.

The press release notes the virtual world, which will launch on Spatial, will feature "competing, gamified elements," such as music, fashion, art, and more.

"By joining Cultureverse this September, participants can celebrate the essence of Black culture in virtual worlds and contribute to a movement that seeks to promote meaningful connections and cultural appreciation," says Breton.

The Verge reports the virtual world, which will be available on Black & Unlimited, Walmart's gaming platform, will be a celebration of the 50th anniversary of Hip-Hop.
