The
Fate of the HandsNet TRC
The Training and Resource Center Ceases Operation
Dear Current and Former HandsNet Students –
The HandsNet Training
and Resource Center, one of the initial technology training centers
for nonprofits in Washington, DC, was founded in 1996 with a grant
from the Department of Commerce TIAPP program. Since that time the
Center has trained more than 10,000 nonprofit professionals on a
range of Internet skills and concepts.
After nearly 5 years
at 1990 M Street, the HandsNet Training and Resource Center will
close its doors on March 30, 2001. We are no longer offering our
course curriculum at this location.
HandsNet will continue
to develop its curriculum and deliver Internet classes through the
HandsNet Mobile Technology Classroom, a set of 22 laptop computers
with full Internet connectivity that allows hands-on training delivery
at conferences and other locations.
If you have any questions
or concerns, please contact Michael Saunders, HandsNet’s Executive
Officer at msaunders@handsnet.org. Please also check this Web
site for the most updated information about HandsNet curriculum
offerings in the Washington, DC area and beyond.
We would like to extend
a sincere ‘thank you’ to you, our students. It has been
a tremendous pleasure to serve you over the years and it has been
rewarding to watch you and your organizations grow. We will miss
you and we wish you the best of luck in the future.
Warmly,
The HandsNet Training
Team
