HandsNet, a Silicon Valley
non-profit, has been helping human services professionals use online
tools to exchange information and improve their programs on behalf
of children, families, and people in need since 1987. "What
distinguishes us from most of the dot-coms that provide similar
services," according Executive Officer Michael Saunders, "is
not the hardware or the software, but the human-ware behind HandsNet."
HandsNet has just produced
a new Member's Guide to ensure that Human Services Professionals
are able to get the most from their online services. This guide
will introduce new users to all of WebClipper's features, as well
as help old members in areas with which they may not be familiar.
HandsNet launches a two-year
Working Familes Online Roundtable to discuss the most effective
ways to help low income working people. The project brings together
direct service providers, advocacy groups, researchers, policy makers,
and funders, into an online discussion forum that seeks to understand
the needs of working families, improve services, inform the public
debate and move the public will.
HandsNet, a national non-profit organization providing
online information services and training, is expanding its highly
acclaimed online services by launching WebClipper, a personal clipping
service and professional library geared towards human services professionals.
